COMMANDER'S GUIDE
π YOUR FIRST HOUR
- Tap the foundry. Every tap forges a burst of Alloy π© β rapid taps chain into a combo worth up to Γ5. Alloy builds ships.
- Build Probe Drones on the FLEET tab. Ships give your empire fleet power, and fleet power is the key to everything.
- Colonize Kepler Prime on the GALAXY tab. A planet joins your empire when your fleet power covers its garrison and you pay the energy cost. Colonies produce resources every second β even while the app is closed.
- Keep expanding. More colonies β more Alloy, Energy β‘ and Research π¬ β bigger ships β tougher planets. Develop each colony up to level 5 (+40% output per level) to squeeze the most from a sector.
- Listen to NOVA. Your shipboard AI on the NOVA tab always knows the single best next move β her suggestion cards jump you straight to the right screen. New tabs unlock as your empire grows, so don't worry about the quiet menu early on.
β ASCENSION β THE BIG LOOP
Once you hold 3 colonies, the ASCEND tab unlocks. Ascending collapses your galaxy β colonies, ships, techs, and wonders all reset β and crystallizes your empire into Dark Matter β, the permanent currency.
- Every colony pays β at collapse; higher development levels and deeper sectors pay much more.
- Spend β on permanent upgrades: production multipliers, offline caps, head-start ship classes, the Singularity Beacon (Γ2 all production for the first hour of every run), and the Cabinet.
- Each run should reach farther than the last. Ascend when progress slows β clinging to a stalled galaxy is the classic idle-game mistake.
- Weekend Surge: ascensions pay double β on Saturday and Sunday.
- Veterans can attempt Challenge ascensions β handicapped runs (no trade, half research, double ship costsβ¦). Reach 20 colonies and ascend to earn a permanent +10% β yield each.
ποΈ THE CABINET β AUTOMATION
Ministers are permanent β hires who run entire tabs for you: the Minister of Industry buys the best-value ships, the Minister of Expansion colonizes and develops worlds, the Minister of War breaks blockades and invades rivals, and six more cover science, trade, state, treasury, espionage, and wonders. Once appointed, toggle them ON/OFF from the pill at the top of their tab. Appoint Industry and Science first β they carry every run's early game.
βοΈ WAR, RIVALS & POLITICS
PIRATES
The WAR tab's arcade: fight pirate fleets for salvage bounties on a short cooldown, and break their blockades β a blockaded colony stops producing until the fleet clears it.
RIVAL EMPIRES
Three NPC empires β the Vex Hegemony, Krillix Swarm, and Hollow Court β hold half the planets in the outer sectors. Invading their worlds needs extra fleet power (about 1.6Γ the normal garrison), and they besiege your border colonies in return. Buy a truce when you need breathing room β but a truce blocks your invasions too, and invading leaves a grudge.
POLITICS
Court five alien species with gifts on the POLITICS tab. Favor tiers unlock production buffs, and Sworn allies pay regular tribute. Enact one Senate edict at a time (e.g. War Economy: +25% alloy, β15% research), and choose your empire's doctrine β Federation, Empire, or Alliance β once per run. Doctrines shape everything from truce prices to bank interest, and each rival empire follows one creed: kindred creeds keep quieter borders.
πΌ EVERYTHING ELSE
- Wonders β six mega-projects per run, built one at a time over 1β3 hours. Huge run-wide effects; you get a notification when one completes.
- Trade β assign a freighter escort to a colony to open a trade lane worth +25% of its alloy/energy output.
- Bank β the First Bank of your empire pays compounding interest on deposits, and four charter-company stocks trade around the clock. Buy dips, sell spikes.
- Spies β build a network of up to 10 spy cells; each cell's operative headcount grows with your empire. Deploy the whole network on timed missions β riskier jobs pay better, and a botched one burns a cell.
- Daily Supply Drop β claim roughly once a day; a 7-day streak escalates to β20.
- Weekly Anomaly β a galaxy-wide modifier that rotates every week, for every commander at once.
- Offline earnings β colonies keep producing while you're away (at a reduced rate, up to a cap you can extend with β). Away more than a day? Your return pays double.
- Achievements β 26 of them, awarded automatically, each paying β. Two are for breaking rival empires: one for your first, one for all three.
- Low Power mode β SETTINGS throttles the game's tick and silences animations and sound. Useful on a low battery; progress is unaffected.
β© TIME WARPS
A warp instantly pays out banked production β the alloy, energy and research your colonies, trade lanes and bank would have earned over that many hours. You can earn warp hours from the day-5 Daily Supply Drop, or buy them in the SHOP.
π PLAYING IN A BROWSER
Novafall also runs free in a browser at the web edition β the full game, no account and no install. Two differences from the iOS app worth knowing before you sink hours into it:
- Your save lives in that browser. It does not follow you to another browser or device, and clearing your browsing data for the site erases it. The iOS app backs up to your own iCloud instead.
- Purchases are iOS-only. Nothing in the web shop can be bought β but everything it sells can also be earned by playing. The packs only skip the wait.
There are no ads in the web edition, and it sends no analytics or crash reports β it runs entirely on your own machine.
β FAQ
- Is my save backed up?
- On iOS, yes β automatically, to your own iCloud. Check SETTINGS β SAVE DATA for sync status. iCloud Drive must be enabled on your device (Settings β your name β iCloud β iCloud Drive). The browser version is not backed up: its save lives in that browser only, and clearing your site data erases it.
- I reinstalled and my empire is gone.
- Give it a minute β iCloud can take a moment to deliver the save after a fresh install; the game re-checks several times after launch. Purchases can always be recovered with SHOP β RESTORE PURCHASES.
- My planets look like they reset!
- They didn't. The Galaxy map tucks fully-developed sectors into a single β line. When research raises the maximum development level (Arcology Domes, Eternity Protocol) or a new colony joins a sector, the line shows βοΈ developing progress while your ministers finish the new levels β nothing you built is ever lost. Tap any sector line to expand or tuck it whenever you like.
- Why did production stop on a colony?
- It's probably blockaded π΄ββ οΈ or under siege. Head to the WAR tab and clear it β or appoint the Minister of War and never think about it again.
- When should I ascend?
- When the next planet or ship class feels far away. Your first ascension can come as early as 3 colonies; the permanent β upgrades will make the next run dramatically faster. Ascend on a weekend for double β.
- Do wonders really take hours?
- Yes β they're monuments, not errands. Construction continues while the app is closed and you'll get a notification the moment one completes.
- Do I have to watch ads or pay?
- No. There are no forced ads β the only ads are optional sponsor broadcasts you choose to watch for a bonus, and the reward is identical whether or not you allow tracking. Everything in the game can be earned by playing; purchases are shortcuts and supporter packs. The web edition has no ads at all.
- I bought something and it didn't arrive.
- Open SHOP β RESTORE PURCHASES β that re-grants anything your receipt proves you own. If it still hasn't appeared, email us with the date and what you bought.
- Why can't I buy anything in the browser version?
- In-app purchases are iOS-only. Everything the shop sells can also be earned by playing, so nothing is locked away from web players β the packs just skip the wait.
- Does a Time Warp skip my battle cooldown or a truce?
- No. Warps pay out banked production only. Cooldowns, truces, sieges, wonders, missions and the daily drop timer all run on real time.
- I bought out an empire's last planet β why no trophy?
- Fixed. Ending an empire by purchase now hangs its banner in the hall exactly like taking the world by force, so the Warlord and Galactic Conqueror achievements unlock either way.
- What does resetting my empire in Settings erase?
- Everything except your purchases β Relics and the starter unlock always survive a reset and can also be restored from the Shop.
- What do the number suffixes mean (K, M, B, T, aaβ¦)?
- Thousand, million, billion, trillion β then aa (quadrillion), ab (quintillion) and onward. The full legend is in SETTINGS.
- Something else?
- Email rvg2151@gmail.com with your device model and iOS version β we read everything.
